Our Beliefs

Doctrinal Statement

A. We believe that the Scriptures, the Old and New Testament, are verbally inspired by God in the original languages and we believe them as the final and totally sufficient rule of faith and life.
(II Timothy 3:16-17)

B. We believe that Genesis 1-2 is a literal account of God’s creation of man and this earth.
(Genesis 1: 26-27, Genesis 2:7, and Matthew 19:4-5)

C. We believe in the triune Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are co-equal, co-existent, and co-eternal. They all have the attributes of holiness, omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience.
(Matthew 28:19, Deuteronomy 6:4 , John 14:16 , and I John 5:7)

D. We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, born of a virgin, and that He is sinless.
(Philippians 2:7-, John 1:1-2, Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:31, II Corinthians 5:21, and Hebrews 4:15)

E. We believe in the substitutionary, atoning death of Jesus Christ, which is the final and full sacrifice for sins.
(Hebrews 10:12 and I Corinthians 15: 1-4)

F. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His mediatorial intercession, and His personal coming again.
(John 20:27, Matthew 28:6, Acts 1:9-11, and I John 2:1)

G. We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, which will begin with the rapture of the church; then followed by a seven-year period of tribulation; then Jesus will return to the earth to establish a 1,000 year reign of righteousness.
(I Thessalonians 4:13-17 and Revelation 4 – 20)

H. We believe that all men are created in the fallen image of Adam and are therefore totally depraved and sinful, deserving of eternal damnation, and unable to save himself.
(Psalms 51:5, I Corinthians 15:22, Romans 3:23 and Romans 5:12)

I. We believe that man is saved by the grace of God through personal faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and is eternally kept by the power of God.
(Ephesians 2:8, I Peter 1:18-19, John 10:27-30 and I Peter 1:5)

J. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ gave the church the ordinances of:
1. The Lord’s Supper.
2. Believers’ Baptism, which must be by immersion.
(I Corinthians 11:23-34 and Acts 8:37-38)

K. We believe that believers are exhorted to grow in grace and to walk in separation from the world according to the Word of God.
(II Peter 3:18, I John 2:15-17 and Romans 12:1-2)

L. We believe in the resurrection of the physical body of man, both of the just and unjust, but each in his own order, the saved at the second coming of Christ, and the unsaved at the end of the millennial reign at the Great White Throne Judgment. All saved will live forever in heaven and all lost (unsaved) will spend eternity in the eternal lake of fire.
(I Corinthians 15:5-53, I Thessalonians 4:13-17, Revelation 20:4-21:8)

M. We believe the existence of Satan. He is a fallen angel whose work is to blind men’s minds lest they be saved, and of tempting, afflicting, and accusing God’s people.
(Job 1:6 – 2:6, II Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 12:10, I Peter 5:7, Isaiah 14:12-15, Ezekiel 28:11-15)

N. We believe that all saved persons of this present dispensation compose the church as the body of Christ. This is called the universal and invisible church.

O. We believe the local church was created by God for believers. It is God’s ordained method for the local assembly of believers to obey God’s directives:

1. To worship God.
2. To receive teaching, exhortation, and fellowship.
3. To use their spiritual gifts and serve the Lord.
The local church is the steward of the Great Commission, the ordinances, and the proclamation of the Word of God.
